Not to Be Confused With UV
Infrared and ultraviolet (UV) light sit at completely opposite ends of the electromagnetic spectrum. UV is a shorter-wavelength ray associated with sunburn and skin damage. Infrared is a longer-wavelength region considered natural and safe — the same comforting warmth you feel from morning sunlight on your skin. Sunlike Tec panels operate exclusively in the far-infrared band; they emit no UV.
Less Dust, Cleaner Air
Because infrared heating doesn't move air around, dust and allergens are far less likely to end up airborne. That can make a noticeable difference for people with asthma or allergies. Infrared heating also tends to keep indoor humidity more stable, typically in the 40–55% range — neither overly dry nor stuffy.
No Combustion, No Carbon Monoxide Risk
Sunlike Tec panels run entirely on electricity — there's no combustion process involved, they don't consume oxygen from the room, and they don't produce carbon monoxide or other harmful gases. The risks you'd need to watch for with an open-flame or gas heater simply don't exist with infrared panels.
Suited to Sensitive Environments
Being quiet, draught-free and free of combustion risk makes infrared heating a suitable option for sensitive environments too — from nurseries to elderly care settings, pet shelters to poultry farms. We cover these use cases in more detail on our Application Areas page.
Every Sunlike Tec panel is manufactured to electrical safety standards and comes with a 3-year warranty.
